About This Place
Cedar’s food is rooted in two sources of authenticity. Its predecessor was Jackob, an Arab restaurant that operated in Nanjing for more than 40 years. Its memorable recipes were built up day after day in a family kitchen. The other influence comes from overseas experience: the operator vusu studied in Egypt, while kitchen manager Ali brings an Arab culinary heritage, giving them a first-hand understanding of the land, its flavours, and its people. Lunch service runs from 11 am to 2 pm, and evening service from 5 pm to 2 am. By day, it is a new kind of community living room, where you can work, read, or enjoy a carefully prepared lunch; by night, the space comes alive. Immersive music listening, dance parties, the use of multifunctional professional facilities, film appreciation, game trials, and workshop exchanges all take place here. With event organising open to the public, it can transform at any time into a lively small-scale cultural venue.
