About This Place
Cheng Shifa was a renowned Shanghai-born painter from Fengjing, a water town in the Jiangnan region. Named after Cheng Shifa, the museum has a total floor area of 11,500 square metres and serves six functions: artwork display, academic research, educational outreach, cultural exchange, collection storage, and public services. Its exterior uses stacked forms inspired by wood and stone, evoking the white walls and dark tiles of Jiangnan culture. It is not only a space for researching and presenting renowned Shanghai-style artists and works, but also carries the cultural responsibility of preserving and developing Shanghai-style art, making it a landmark cultural facility in Shanghai.
