Master Hand-Painted Ceramic “Along the River During Qingming” Cup

Along the River During the Qingming Festival is one of China’s top ten treasured paintings handed down through history, and is praised as “China’s No. 1 divine masterpiece.” The painting begins with spring scenery in the countryside, extends to the merchant boats and busy bridges along the Bian River in the capital city, and finally closes with the lively streets and lanes inside the city. It vividly records Song Dynasty architecture, transportation, and folk life. More than 500 figures, over 100 houses, and dozens of street scenes and trees are finely hand-painted onto a teacup only dozens of square centimeters in size, giving the image both grand momentum and charming detail. It can be handled, appreciated, used, and collected, and is known as the “King of Cups.”
