"Gentleman Porcelain – Universal Peace" 9-Piece Tea Set (for 4 persons)

This porcelain tea set was used as the official state banquet dinnerware at the Boao Forum for Asia in Hainan for two consecutive years – in April 2018 and April 2019.

The overall design features a blue-and-white pattern built from interlocking swastika motifs. In Chinese culture, this pattern represents boundless blessings, all virtues, continuity, and everlasting peace. The design is both rhythmically graceful and elegantly blends classical Eastern and Western aesthetics – embodying a beauty that transcends time and cultural boundaries.

The set also takes creative inspiration from Hainan's local elements, with shapes derived from conch shells and ocean waves, which together symbolise tranquility, good fortune, and prosperity. Wood-grain textures are integrated into the porcelain, while decorative paintings of coconut trees and sailing boats convey the wishes of enduring friendship, standing together through challenges, and peace across the world.
